Today was a beautiful Sunday here in Arizona.
We went to church this morning and had an amazing day with our kids church, nothing like little ones loving on Jesus.
I took a break from cooking today, which was so nice. We went to Vito’s Pizza for lunch and had a thin crust Margherita pizza. We also allowed our two youngest to have a Sundae. It’s good to give yourself a treat every now and then. When you starve yourself from everything it makes it harder to stick to clean/healthy eating. Then you mess up and many times give-up because you feel like a failure. We are on this journey for a lifetime change, not a fad or a diet, but a healthy food eating journey and it is okay to give your body a treat to make up for all the hard work, especially your kids.
We took my bestie’s two kids to lunch with us and then her and her husband came to our house and we went fishing and took a nice evening walk and talked while the kids road bikes and scooters. It was a beautiful evening for some exercise and nice friendship. I am so thankful God blessed my husband and I with great friends. After they left I had a salad from Pita Jungle and then I got to work on my meal plan for the week.
It is important if you’re on a budget to make out a meal plan and have a list of exactly what you need before you go to the grocery store. It helps you not buy items you don’t need and know in advance an estimate of what your looking at spending before getting to the register so you can make changes prior to your shopping trip. I once thought I could not change my families eating habits because it would be too expensive, but we’re on a tight budget and we’re making it. There have been a couple times I have gone over budget, but it evens out because some things have been bought in bulk so they’re not needed the following week.
