I seriously would love to have a diet coke or Mountain Dew right now. However, I’m still saying no to soda. I did have an ice cream last night. I had a bad migraine and sometimes ice cream helps freeze the headache. Unfortunately it didn’t work this time, but it was oh so delicious.
I am still cooking clean, I haven’t lost any more weight, but I’m not gaining either. I need to get back to walking and I just haven’t done it.
It’s been hard staying within our budget, so I’ve been trying to pick up some side jobs to help compensate. Our health is so important though so it’s worth the extra money to eat better.
One of our families favorite new recipe is turkey burgers or turkey steak. I take ground Turkey and mix in the following; chopped colored bell peppers, fresh garlic, chopped spinach, a tsp of bacon fat I saved from clean bacon, shredded sharp cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped onion, hamburger seasoning, salt and pepper. I make patties and grill them. They’re so delicious.
I also added walnuts and dark chocolate chips to my clean banana bread recipe. It was super yummy and a good guilt free treat for the family.
This week marked week 11 complete and I’m so proud of us for sticking with this and it has definitely become our new way of life.
