My husband and I got back last night from Las Vegas. We had such an amazing romantic week. It was the perfect 8-year anniversary get-away. We never had a proper honeymoon so this trip definitely made up for it.
I had planned on eating healthy the whole time, but it was too much trouble and the idea was to relax. I didn’t go crazy, but you know the saying “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!” It’s okay to enjoy a treat or two and relax on vacation or holidays. We need time to just relax and as long as we’re for the most part sticking to it that’s what matters.
I will say I was nervous returning that getting back into the swing of things would be hard, but as soon as we hit the Arizona state line I made healthy choices. I didn’t wait until today I began last night.
Today I made sloppy Joes on homemade whole wheat rolls with potato hash and they were delicious. I just pulled out some whole wheat banana nut bread sweetened with honey out of the oven.
Today I went to Trader Joe’s and the Farmers Market and stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies and some other supplies we needed. I encourage everyone to take it one day at a time and if you mess up, just get back on the horse and keep going. We all have weak moments and sometimes we just need a chocolate fix or ice cream fix. Now I need a healthy frozen yogurt recipe because I am definitely craving it right now.
